We co-develop with qualified developers/promoters having complementary capabilities. This results in the best projects with the best outcomes. NSAS will evaluate a partner’s experience, reputation and competence–everything from obtaining necessary government or environmental approvals, to acquiring land rights, to arranging grid access, to negotiating a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to other practical hands-on development tasks.
For projects assessed as having good fundamentals, NSAS will work with the local partner to verify the technical and practical feasibility. We will then proceed to clearly define the respective roles and responsibilities to be followed as development proceeds. This is embodied in NSAS’s standard Co-Development Agreement, a milestone focused, step-by-step document that is agreed upfront.
The origination, evaluation and management of transactions is supported by regional offices in the areas of most interest – Africa and India. We have highly Capable people with strong deals-oriented business acumen and experience in renewable energy. These offices are supported by an Oslo headquartered group technically well versed in a range of renewable technologies and financing expertise with a London office looking after investor relations. This makes for seamless execution as a cohesive team.
Knowing that a project’s Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) responsibilities are in capable hands is invaluable. Since such costs can account for 60-70% of a project’s budget, we only work with capable, trusted companies. A preferred partner is India-headquartered Sterling & Wilson, the world’s largest solar EPC company with offices in 45 countries.
